What is OMR Full form?
Optical Mark Recognition is the full name for OMR. OMR recognises human-made markings on specifically printed paper or journals that are used in experiments, surveys, and other research. It is often utilised in situations where a large number of candidates apply and where data must be evaluated quickly and consistently. The OMR reader can read bits of information from the papers.

In applications with enormous volumes of data, optical mark recognition (OMR) is used. It’s commonly used to handle test results, as well as replies to feedback forms, survey forms, and questionnaires. It is also used to decide election outcomes at the state level.
OMR is a way of inputting data into a computer system using optical mark reading. Optical Mark Readers interpret pencil or pen markings put on paper forms in pre-defined places as replies to questions or tick list prompts. The information needed to transform the presence or absence of marks into a computer data file is contained in the OMR data entry system.
If data must be collected from a large number of sources at the same time, a large volume of data must be collected and processed in a short period of time, and the information primarily consists of the selection of categories or “tick box” answers to multiple-choice questions, OMR technology may be used.
Michael Sokolski (September 25, 1926 – June 13, 2012) was an American design engineer who was born in Poland. Sokolski invented the Scantron OMR scanner, which is used to scan and grade forms on which students mark answers to multiple choice questions on academic multiple choice tests.
A scanner scans a datasheet, focusing a laser beam on the form paper and identifying areas of limited light transmission, i.e. marked areas reflecting less light than blank zones. It has a margin of error of less than 1%.
